Thanks!

P.S. if you have a 350, steel rims mostly won't fit.

The 300 has the 350 brakes now, so for some 17" wheel you may just need to do a 5mm spacers and you'll be able to clear the caliper.
I use to have the IS and I found that the car handled better with a square set up, if it was a RWD I'd say the staggered is necessary, but AWD, square set up all the way purely from performance stand point.

I was buying tires today and noticed there is an aftermarket company offering 18x8" +45 replica F sport wheels in their catalog in silver. I also noticed an ad on kijiji for a local seller selling 17" F sport lookalike wheels.
I have a set of OEM 17" Lexus wheels off a 2006-2010 that came with my car which I won't be using, so if anyone locally (Toronto) want them for cheap, hit me up. They will clear '350 brakes and have TPMS sensors.

You guys think I'll be OK going P225/50R17 tires? I got a good price on this size as a used set off a GS350, and it's a very marginal diff over the more common P225/45R17.
Thanks! I look fwd to my first winter w an AWD car, lol.

That's about a 3.5% difference. Not marginal at all. Ideally you want less than 2.5 difference. 0 is best.
would you be ok? Probably, providing all 4 tires are the same brand, model and size. Your speedometer will be off though. Should be reading higher than you're really going.

Every season's removal will require a tpms re programming is this true as well?

1) There are sensors out there you can reprogram to clone your existing tpms ID. So that your vehicle won’t actually know the difference. Autel has some, and shrader has some called ez sensor.
2) I picked up a tool by ateq called tpm quickset. It can quickly reprogram your vehicle’s tpms with the push of a button. Down side is that if you only get this tool, you’ll need the dealer or tire shop to program your second set of wheels once. This is because this tool reads and stores current tpms data. If you do this twice however, once with summers, once with winters, you should have both sets and will be ready to go for as long as you own the car. You can also get an autel tool that is supposed to read codes from th tires and program the car via obd2. It’s a little more money, than the ateq and takes a little more time to use once set up, but should do it all. The ateq tool works for me.

About TPMS, I was worried about the light coming on and being annoying, and I was told it only came on after a certain distance driven. That's true, it usually happened after driving approx 60km in a day and not turning the engine off more than a couple hours.
For example if I got home and the light was on, I could park the car overnight and when I came back in the morning the light would be off. If my commute that day was less than 60km I was fine.
However, last winter, the light never came on. In fact I had totally forgotten about it until the end of winter... Weird.

I'm sure that I'm one of the few who got the 17's (square) on my '350 RWD (non F). These are now my Winter wheels, and I bought some nice 18" aftermarket wheels (also square) for the summer. This, I feel is the best way to do it. It's too bad they don't offer the 17's any longer.
