Question Rattle from driver's side front door?

I've got a '16 IS 300 (F Sport). On cold days I have noticed a pretty consistent rattling sound that seems to come from the front door on the driver's side of the car. Before I bought it, I watched Savagegesse's review, and he complained about this same thing. However, the car he reviewed had a few thousand more miles than mine (I'm sitting at about 2250 at the moment). I have noticed this from pretty much 1000 miles on, maybe less. Anyone else have this issue?

It's not that bad for me as I can avoid crappy roads and never encounter it, but as soon as I hit certain road surfaces it flares up. Just wondering if it's a known issue.

might be the window switch surround. Its a common piece that rattles from the driver door though more under certain music but might be something to check. Hold the switch surround when you notice the rattle and see if it stops.

Funny, I pressed on the window switch surround a bit, and it creaked. I pressed down on it to make sure it wasn't loose or something, and I haven't been able to reproduce the issue since then, and that was about 3 days ago.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks!

Awesome glad it helped. If it continues as long as you can reproduce it to Lexus they will change out the window switch surround and problem should be fixed.

This happens to me as well when im driving mostly in the freeways or have the music volume turned up. Can be quite annoying actually.

Had the same rattle. Lexus put some foam insulation under the switch panel, but it didn't resolve the issue. Not particularly wowed with the service or build quality thus far.

Exactly the same issue here with the rattle from the switch panel. Dealer put foam under the switch as said above.

I've got this as well in my 14' is350. It happens when I get a song with bass playing. That mark levinson has some kick to it! I dialed the bass down and the vibration got better. Sucks that the car gets rattled over bass....I'll try pushing down on the switch surrounding next time to see if it sticks better.

Yea, that's exactly what makes it a pain. One of the things I liked about the Mark Levinson was the extra bass, but not at the expense of the car rattling like a cheap econobox.

As long as your under warranty Lexus will replace that panel if you replicate it to them and mention its a common issue.

I had a rattle that I was convinced was from the drivers door, but actually traced it to the hood release lever under the dash. While driving down the road, press on the lever and see if it goes away.

To fix the rattle, I removed the lever from the lower dash (it just clips in) and wrapped the clip with thin felt tape. The felt tape gave it a snug fit and the rattle stopped.
