Rough Idle 2015 IS350 F-Sport
Hello everyone,
Since the temperatures have been around 2 to -5 degrees Celsius, I've noticed a very rough idle while stopped at a light for maybe the first 10-15 minutes of my trip.
The whole front end of the car shakes. It is very noticeable. Putting the car in neutral seems to make it go away. The RPM needle will be around 1-1.3K.
The engine temperature will read normal, at the half way point or just slightly before.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Some background information:
my engine oil has just less than 7k KM on it and is about 6.5 months old. i have appointment to change it on the 20th.

I've noticed some minor vibrations on the steering wheel on my 2015 IS350 F-Sport AWD when it's warming up and the temperature is around 8C or lower. But once it gets up to operating temp the idle RPMs go down and it's smooth again. I've read many posts on this forum and it seems like it's normal for the AWD version of this car. I'm not sure how bad your vibration is, but I wouldn't classify mine as a "rough idle". I think you should take it to Lexus and see what they say.

Usually a rough idle is just caused by a fuel mixture thing. Maybe the fuel mixture when cold (by design). is such that it causes the car to run rough. Oil has nothing to do with it though.
The reason it runs smoother in neutral is cause when the car is in drive, the vibrations from the engine are loaded up on the drivetrain and wheels. It just magnifies whatever is going on at the engine.
i'd venture a guess and say it's not abnormal but would be nice to see a video of this.
