Default How much are you paying for insurance?

How much are you guys paying for your insurance? I bought my IS200T 2016 December 2015. The first 6 months when I got the car, I paid $900 for the insurance. It's the 2nd half of the 2016 year and now my insurance increased it to $1400. I don't have any traffic records. I would expect owning a Lexus would cost me around $1000 per 6 months.

Is it because I'm on an insurance with my family? My other 3 cars (all Toyota) combine cost like $600 per 6 months.
Would it be cheaper for me to find my own insurance?
Why is it that expensive?
Is it that expensive for you guys?

Does 300/300/100 mean you're on full coverage? We are on good driver discount too

I pay $418 per 6 months (250/500/100). But, that's with lots of discounts (multi line, multi vehicle, accident free, etc). I'm sure location, as well as age and credit rating determines rate as well. I would think it would be cheaper to be on a family plan than an individual plan. Shop around, it can't hurt.

$300k/300/100k means if he is at fault, that's how much his insurance would pay (bodily injury, bodily injury total in accident, propert damage). Full coverage can mean your policy only cover ($10k/10/10) and your own car. But in most cases you would get sued by opposite insurance company if you have any property or money when the coverage max out.

So when you get quote for coverages, what the policy actually covers is more important than how much you pay. Of course your age, history, other policy matters too.

I pay $980 for 6 month for my RCF

I have (300/300/100) liability, uninsured/underinsured motorist nonstacked, $50 comp $100 collision deductible, rental, added medical coverage.

I could easily pay $250/6 month instead if I had the bone minimum. (10/10/10), no uninsured motorist, $5000 comp/collision deductible, no rental, pip with high deductible. But in case of an accident, I would get sued

$900 for 6 months
300/300/100
2014 IS350 and 2014 Jeep Patriot
2 drivers
Bundled with our homeowners
800+ credit rating for both of us

We live in the "Overpriced insurance capital of the world though" (New Jersey).

Something that I found suprising was that when I got rid of my 08 corvette in favor of the IS350, the insurance premium went up like $80/6 months. I was expecting the opposite

I was pricing a future Porsche and saw it was cheaper that this Lexus. No idea what the heck for. I guess they assume I'll be more careful with a more expensive car?

You cannot compare insurance from one person to another ever. It varies based on age, gender, location, driver, car and credit.

I was gonna say, I'm paying $730 per 6 months for my 2016 IS 300 F Sport, but I have $750 deductibles for both collision and comprehensive and one driver. We also are doing the 25,000/50,000/10,000 bodily injury liability. I am accident-free and have a discount due to also doing my homeowner's insurance as well as our other car through the same provider. In addition, we have roadside assistance and rental reimbursement of $30 per day, maximum $900 total. It is going to be tough to compare because there are so many variables.

2015 is250 F sport & 2011 Infiniti G coupe. 6 month premium in CT is $1632 (25 years old, bankruptcy worthy credit, clean record for the most part).

The Infiniti bogs me down.. i think it would be cheaper without it.

And, of course, it varies by the amount of liability coverage, the deductible, weather you carry uninsured motorist, comprehensive, rental reimbursement, etc. It is also discounted if the person pays the 6 months in full vs. monthly payments.

My last payment was $835.00, 6 months paid in full. Would've been $1,029.00 had I paid monthly. A discount of $194.00, or ~ 19%, just for paying up front.

My coverage is:
Bodily Injury Liability $10,000 each person / $20,000 each accident.
Property Damage Liability $25,000 each accident.
Comprehensive included.
$500 deductible.

It is expensive!

Happy holidays everyone!

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm definitely going to switch insurance. My insurance is very expensive. I have $500 deductible, 100/300/100 and that cost me over $1k every 6 is too much. My age is in the mid 20s with no traffic records.

Anyone have any experience with Geiko, Mercury? Has anyone used Progressive.com before?

Geico, Mercury, Progressive is for people with bad history or records. Quote with Allstate, Statefarm, nationwide and the like
