Default F-Sport Speedometer in Base model?

Can I replace my 2014 IS 350 base speedometer with an f-Sport speedometer?

It is do-able, but I wouldn't say it's worth it if you already purchased a non-F. The unit is around $2000, I believe.

It will cost a fortune. Better off getting a car with the F-sport package.

I found one for $500, its used and ships from Canada. Would it have any issue with odometer or if it came from a 250 instead of a 350?

You gotta understand that having the F SPORT instrument cluster fitted into a NON-F SPORT would include lots of wiring, maybe some that wouldn't even fit. Not to mention the screen's resolutions that may or may not work. Since it is a fully digital screen.

exactly. and you're going to have to replace more than just the instrument cluster to get the instrument cluster to work.

It must be just me but after the first week of getting the readings the way I want them I have never touched it. It is just a gimmick to me. I would gladly trade it for ventilated seats. (2014 F sport).

It's only useful when I'm somewhere I've never been as I have the street names on the left portion of the dash. However the digital dash in regular mode is far better than the non F sport ones. Love how the tach gets red near redline!

LIke others said, it would be expensive and complicated for sure. Not sure how the system works but would likely need to get the odometer re certified to be legal. The speedometer gauge can be set to either MPH or km/h though.

Honestly, it was cool the first few weeks and now it's just a normal instrument cluster with a digital speedo. Now if this was the new A4 instrument cluster, that would be a different story.

Mainly I would just like it for the digital speedometer, I am so blown away that my 2003 Nissan 350Z had a digital speedometer but my 2014 Lexus IS 350 does not simply because it is the base model?

did the 03 350z have a digital speedo?

the base IS model is exactly that, basic. if you want the bells and whistles, you can pay for them. some 2017 models still have roll up windows.

It certainly did. I didn't want to give up more comfortable actual real leather seats, ventilated seats, tilting steering wheel, BSM, parking sensors, and fog lights for a better speedometer. And now with the newer models they are removing even more features. It's all silly really, the f-sport isnt any faster, it just has a slightly better suspension.

I can say that this will 100% work. All you have to do is buy a new/used F sport gauge from eBay for the 3is. Then take it to your dealer and have them program it to your certain mileage so that it is legal, especially if you ever plan on selling the car. Then either install yourself or have the dealer do it. The gauge is plug and play, no extras needed like eco, wires, etc. My friend personally did this to his non F sport so I know it works.
