Dears,
Tonight my parked car was rear ended at the grocery store. The other party admitted fault which is commendable since too many dishonest people around these days. I would like to know what concerns i should have when i drop this off for repairs. This is so in case i forget something to look at prior to repair and after repair. Car is still new to me, less than 5000 miles and would be 4 months old this Xmas eve. Damage appear minor on the outside but I have heard that there can be more serious things underneath. Car is equipped with BSM/RCTA , so i would like to know if there are any concerns relating to those features being affected after repair. Thanks all
PS. Any recommendations for where to take this thing, are there any recommended shops in Pembroke Pines....

Insist on factory parts from whatever shop it ends up at. SF tends to want to steer you to their approved shops. I always go to one I trust regardless of the insurance co involved. I'm sure this isn't your first fender bender so......

I've had this happen to my old car 09 IS250 and the damage looked almost identical but it was on the other side of the rear bumper. I insisted on taking it to the bodyshop that my dealership used. Sourced it through the dealership. They did a great job and I couldn't tell the difference after. Since insurance is covering this, don't take any shortcuts and as others have said already, insist on OEM parts!!! Really sucks that this happened to you in such a new car. Wow I would have gone crazy.

Update
Just finished speaking with state farm and I'm not happy. They claim I must bring my car to them for inspection which means i will have to leave my job 3 hours earlier than usual to make an appointment for next Tuesday since they close early. Latest appointment is 4:15pm. I asked about lost wages and they claim that is not valid in my state. I asked if they could send someone out at my job to inspect and they said no. They only do that if car is not able to be driven . My plan was to leave my car at Lexus ,but again they claim I must see their people first. The lady even proceeded to ask me how i want payment.
Ridiculous, I am not repairing the car myself so why would the payment be in my name. I already told her i will not use their approve shop. I will take my car to Lexus. I feel as though i am being treated unfairly and they are merely looking to get me moving along quickly. My car is new to me and i will not settle for anything less. I had no idea this was how one is treated in these situations.

Perhaps you should reconsider staying with State Farm. When my wife needed some body work done on her old IS 250 last year, our insurance company (USAA) came to our home to look at the car. And then it was a simple matter to take the car to an approved shop in our neighborhood to make the repair.

I believe SF was the offenders Insurance.
Just file it with your own insurance and let them fight with and collect from SF. You don't have to put up with what SF is asking.
USAA is fantastic BTW...
