Yesterday I was hoping the service department could identify the bad gasket themselves, but they said all interior noises are normal. Two hours lost at the dealer and less confidence in them to identify and fix the problem.
Homer: I'm going to order through my local dealer as well just in case the P/N they suggest is incorrect then easy return and exchange for correct one. Keep us posted.

Lexus: 63251-53061
Told me this was for the 14 IS350

Lexus said that PN 63251-30100 was for the GS, and Toyota said that same PN was for Camry. I would imagine it works for the IS but perhaps not.

Two Lexus parts sites state that 63251-53060 is replaced by 63251-53061. However they don't seem to offer the one ending in 61... So I'll be purchasing 53060 in hopes it's not too large as previously mentioned.

Ordering this week and if I have issues next weekend I'll try the "GS" weather strip or order straight from lex dealer so I can blame them 😀

Let me know if 63251-53060 ends up working for you. I can confirm 63251-53061 DOES NOT fit and is too large (even though it's listed as replacing 63251-53060)

Nice would like to know how it works, and what part number is marked on that box once you get it.

Ordering tomorrow and will install as soon as I get it. I'll follow up. If it works it'll be the best $50 spent all year hands down. If you have this rattle you know what I mean....I deal with some of this in my Nissan but not this car.

Picked up 63251-53061 since it's listed as the current P/N in my local dealer's database.
They did confirm 63251-53061 supersedes 63251-53060.
Will be installing in the next few days and will report short term results. The true test is around the two year mark when mine started to fail/annoy me.

I don't see the need to replace current part with same P/N if we already know current part design needs improvement.

I had the same concern about replacing with same piece.

So I just confirmed with MyLParts that they will fulfill my order with new 63251-53061.

Even though online they still show the old 60 pn.

Ships tomorrow I should have Monday.

Quick update
Just completed the replacement and can confirm 63251-53061 does fit for our IS.
Pretty much the same process as posted in the GS section, but to install the new weatherstrip I removed the glass completely.
Overall process not as quick and easy as expected. Probably took me around 4 hours, but I do take my time.
Still need to do a test drive and evaluate for any noises or water leaks.
I'm thinking about creating a separate How to with helpful notes.

Haven't been able close using the tilt function, it's behaving as if there is excess friction which can be seen looking at the sides of the gasket bowing a bit.
First confirmed the gasket was seated properly all the way around. Next added lithium grease to the exposed areas of the gasket and also loosened the screws so that the sunroof can self adjust enough to close properly with no success.
Tomorrow, will remove the glass to confirm the bottom edge of the gasket are also properly seated.

Shoot. Did you ever get it closed? Wonder if you're having the same issue the other member in thos thread had stating it was too large.
If you had all srews removed I wonder if it would fit in there. Could be an issue of just realigning the panel since you removed in entirely.

Got my part today but with upcoming rain may be a few days before I install. It is the same one ending in 61.

When I install, I will only be detaching 1 end of the glass panel, as described in the GS forum. The other end remains attached and is raised by using the tilt function. This way it stays aligned just as it was.

GS thread with the fix

I finally got it to close. After looking through the repair manuals before removing the glass again, I realized there are actually two lips on the weatherstrip that need to be seated. Originally, I was only pushing on the top of the weatherstrip and didn't have the bottom lip seated.
Even after seating the bottom lip, the tilt still didn't want to go down. Next I loosened the (4) screws even more and pushed up on the glass while performing the tilt down function and finally it closed.

I don't see how GS members replaced the weatherstrip without completely removing the glass.
If I were to do this over again, I would just remove the glass in the closed position to eliminate finessing the glass during the tilt down position.
I will create a how to after this experience with pictures this week.

No rattle or wind noises so far, but still haven't test the tilt up down or the open close repeatedly yet. Will do after I get replacement screws due thread damage.

Had this just about done in 20 min....
Marked exactly where the glass was screwed in, to reset where it was, old strip off, cleaned the surrounding trim, and new one on.

However....
IT DIDNT FIT

Annoying. Had the old one back on and tightened up in easily but played around with the new piece and it's just too long. Only 1 idea on how it may play out differently but didn't see many options...

Bob, what madel/year is your IS? Cause I have the same part number.

It's not perfectly in place in this picture but you can see the fit.

2015 350 F sport.
P/N verification
Did the P/N label matched to what you ordered?
Also, what color are the two dots on the bottom of your new weatherstrip? Two dots will be the two front corners of the weatherstrip.
Mine are between a coral and Navy blue.
The inside edges of mine do not have the wrinkles like yours.

Yup PN is good, and identical to yours.
Those dots are same type of blue on mine and my 14' 350 certainly should share the part (even being Non FS). As confirmed with parts site, and dealer.

The wrinkles on the inside edge were only because I wrapped it back on real quick to get the photo after I gave up.

Seeing yours however, it looks slightly different I think. The outter parimeter of the strip seems to corner-off differently than mine. I think it's a different shape.

I put mine on in opposite direction as well, with blue dots at rear corners. I just dont see any way I'm going to eliminate that extra 1 1/2" of slack regardless.

Plan B. I'll go to dealer tomorrow and ask to comare the part they have to mine. Extra $35 for the part if II buy at dealer but I won't let them leave it unresolved

(Lower right corner of label...KV23 on yours is KV12 on mine. Probably a batch/lot # representing where or when it was made. Probably irrelevant but...it's different.)

Installed the weather strip and am now finally rattle-free.
Ended up being more of a PITA than I could of anticipated. I returned PN ending in 61, as it was clearly too large and now way around it.

In it's place, I received the older part 63251-53060. Although, it didn't seem to match the existing one on the vehicle. I'll post a picture below.

So multiple variations of this strip and seemingly different variations within the same PN. (My 63251-53061 part did not look like Bob's).

However, 63251-53060 did work out. This was not exactly a "glove-like" fit as I expected. But I suppose there's a reason for that. I half thought I may need to even heat the strip to fit it...quite the opposite.

It was about an hour to do, mostly just setting the strip into the upper/lower grooves around the glass while repeatedly failing to maintain a loosly fitting position. Would of done just as well to remove the glass entirely. I did not, but ended up loosening it at both ends to better position the piece for proper function.

Applied a weather strip protectant fluid while I was at it.

Water seeping through. Really upset. Out there in the rain doing whatever I can and it's just not sealed.

Lower lip on that gasket extends just below the rim where it should create the water-tight seal.

Not having a good time. The seal is ***** it doesn't go on better than it is.
