Question Problems with installed F-sport cold-air intake

Hello fellow Lexus owners!

This is my first time on the forum and I need your help. I self-installed a Lexus f-sport cold-air intake on my 2014 Lexus IS350. I followed the directions exactly as stated. Before I installed the intake my gas range meter would read between 350-368 miles for range after I filled up my gas tank. Now, after I installed my new intake, my gas meter reads between 320-330 miles for the range. If I understand correctly, the cold-air intake (with accompanying high-flow performance air filter) should slightly improve gas mileage.

I'm assuming something whacky is going on with the reset of my ECU and MAF sensor due to the new intake install. I want to know why this is the case? Did I break something? Shouldn't I be getting a similar gas range reading regardless of the new intake? I don't drive any differently than I used to when I had the stock intake on there. How can I fix this issue? Can I fix it on my own, or do I need to bring my car into the dealership?

Please help. Thanks!

I suspect it takes some time for the ECU to make some adjustments for the new air/gas ratio. Give it a week and see how it changes.

It has been over two weeks since I installed the intake. No changes in terms of gas range. Still sitting in the range of 320-330. Does it need more time than that?

I wish mine was. I haven't gone above 300 in a while, but I have AWD so... "meh" gas mileage.

Haha ... good point, but my driving habits are still the same as before ... so I know it's not that.

But how would the gas range right after install of the intake and right after I filled up the gas tank (where the only piece of driving that occurred was from my house to the gas station ... only a few miles) make my gas range reading 320-330 range after I filled up ... whereas I was in the 350-360 range prior to installing the cold-air intake?

For reference,

IS350F RWD ~365 full tank, switching between chevron and Costco.

I think it largely depends on what kind of driving you do (city/highway) and of course how you drive but I get about 300 miles driving mostly in the city with my IS250 RWD

Do you have stock intake on there are the f-sport cold-air intake installed (or any after-market intake for that matter)?
