You only need remove the negative terminal...you can remove both if you like, but not necessary.

Keep in mind this is what I used to flash my navigation for my lexus gs 350 2015. It got stuck at the caution screen right after the update. I ended up replacing the whole radio after the update. Nothing could been done on the dealers end.
Just letting you know use this at your own risk.

@BJ350F I put the file in a Dropbox link as it's 89Mbs. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n66smomkfx..._0004.kwi?dl=0
This file is for 2015 GS350 with 12 inch Navigation. If you have the 8 inch non-Navigation in your car, this file is not for it.
Copy the file onto a USB stick, no bigger than 8GB, formatted to FAT32, and is USB 2.0.
Insert the stick into the USB port in the center armrest, and go to the Software Update section in the Navigation unit.

The updates are to rectify performance issues with the unit...they have no impact on Map data. Map data can only be updated via replacement of the micro SD card.
If you were not having any performance issues with the unit and install the file I provided the link to, you will likely not notice any difference in the unit operation afterwards.
This file was produced sometime last year, and there have been no updates since. I presume this will be the last update released.

As my post above mentioned, this has no impact on Map data...it's only for the operating software.

So just to follow up, I used Sasnukes download link for the Nav update and had no issues updating it.
Just beware towards the end of the update, the "caution screen" got stuck there for a few minutes .
But to fix that problem, I kept the flash drive in the usb after the update is completed and then drove the car around. and the Maps came on right away and was able to use all the Nav features.
