2014 f sport conversion to 2017 f sport
Good afternoon CL members,
I am fairly new to the community and I was wondering if anybody can give me an input and advise me on my personal dilemma. I currently own a 2014 3IS f sport and in love with the new 2017 f sport refresh front and rear facia i was wondering if a conversion can be done to have the front and rear facia of the 17' placed on my 14'? without having to sell my current 14'
Much appreciated and thank you all
-Josh

Welcome Josh.
The front fascia on the new IS was mentioned in a couple threads and t it appears initially that both front fenders, headlights, and bumper would be needed to start with at least.
Consideration would need to be given to electrical connections at the headlights and if the vehicle has the pre-collision system.
I'm not sure if the rear has been mentioned. Personally I prefer the 14+ rear opposed to the new one. Although the LS-style exhaust tips I do find classy...but personal taste once again.

Agree with Ciggy...it may be too new for aftermarket parts just yet. Maybe a scrap yard if one was written off due to a rear end collision.

There is not much different between 2014-2017, F-sport to Fsport, Ok headlight will always be changed back and ford, front bumper,,, all you need to do is buy OEM foglight cover from Lexus and MOD yours, the Rear tailight litle LED change just buy OEM 2017 tail, the Diffuser and Muffler tip are different, again buy OEM Tip and Diffuser 2017 and snap it in. they are not refreshed yet just slightly changed

I think the cost of buying OEM parts and getting it painted to match your car would be in the ball park of $4-5k.
Considering if connectors and the hood is also same, that's still a heavy price for a face lift.

Between the parts, paint and labor, it will be cheaper to trade in your car for a 2017. Even if you did the update, when it comes time to sell the car, you won't get any money back and may end up loosing money because your car looks like was in an accident due to the mismatched parts.

I've been seeing more '17s on the road, getting used to the new look, sort of liking it. Really looking forward to seeing one lowered.

MMC is what Toyota uses as well...Minor Model Change. I think 2020 should be the next new IS. However the 2IS body style was around from 2006 to 2013 (even with the Minor Model Changes)...2014 if you count the convertible as it looks like the 2IS more than the 3IS.

I am thinking about what else Lexus needs to redesign before the IS. The RX is new, as well as the LS/LC. Maybe the GS and IS are next or the CT, unless it's the ES which I don't understand why they still have. Maybe with the next IS, they'll be able to consolidate the ES/IS market into one.
Lot of billboards around promoting the 2017, I've seen two locally with a red F sport. At Yonge and Eg, for you guys local to me, they had one parked there on a display on the sidewalk a few months back in red.

that's what i thought too but i think it will be longer due to the cuteness of 3rd Gen IS design, i was struggled everything for my 3rd IS350 F-sport, it looks cute from inside out from side skirts to rear end styling, the 3rd IS body trim design is like my TRD Toyota Solara bodykit.
