Unhappy 2015 IS 250 Side Mirror paint wrinkling!!!

Hey everyone!
Need some opinions on this situation.

Just came home and was surveying my car and side mirror looked a bit weird. Apparently looks like the paint is wrinkling and going "inwards" on the mirror. Absolutely nothing hit the mirror, and no scratches are showing. I've never had this happen in all the cars I've owned so this is new to me and I'm wondering if Lexus Warranty covers this. I'm actually due to return my car from its lease within 2-3 months.

This is a 2015 Lexus IS 250 F Sport which is on a lease. I'm in Virginia and it has been raining the past few days as well. Idk if that information is useful but I wanted to provide it anyway.

I've attached the pictures. It is currently night here, so the picture quality won't be great but if anyone can give advice on how or why this happened and what I can even do, that would be great!

Thanks a ton!

Kind of looks like someone held a heat gun in one spot to do that

I've seen something similar in another post in the forum where it turned out that the sun's rays got magnified through glass in one's garage and just so happened to "bake" the paint on the mirror. Might not be the case here, especially if it was rainy, but thought I'd share this remote possibility. Besides this unlikely behavior, I agree with the heat gun theory.

Don't think thats the paint. LOOK CAREFULLY!

Some Lexus comes with factory clear bra for the mirrors, look for a crease somewhere along the edges.

I found out that my car came with a clear even though it was not included as an option.

So as far as the past few days go. I washed my car on Thursday, obviously wasn't there that day. Friday was a warm 86 degree day. Saturday to today, it has been raining since.
So Fridays heat could've played a factor, however remote that possibility is.

Myself, my initial though when I saw this was someone purposely took a cigarette lighter to my mirror which caused this to happen. But thats me with no knowledge of how this happens.

I did feel the wrinkles, it feels hardened now. Definitely did not feel like there was a clear bra layer that was wrinkled.

It does look like heat was taken to the mirror. On the bright side you can just replace the cover and won't need the entire mirror.

Oh, I haven't checked but didn't know that.

So they sell just the outside cover? Is that something that's easily replaceable or a bit of work involved. I thought I could possibly take it to a body shop and have the mirror repainted.

I would check at the dealer first and see what they cost. I have no idea...could be inexpensive or very expensive.

Here's a video of how to take the mirror apart...start from 1:35

OP, corradoMR2 may have a point, as your issue looks similar to this person's:
http://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/C...c_melted.shtml

Take it to a dealer and see what they say. Worse comes to worse, as Sasnuke advises, the mirror cover can be replaced. Good luck.
Yeah I didn't notice it for the longest time. I was detailing the car one day, and I was like wtf is this seam doing here. Turns out it was a clear film.

Reflections throw off the angles, but is the housing itself melted? It looks so.

That looks exactly like the car complaint that PatrixUSA posted.

Yep, that's what it looks like.
Took it to the dealer today to get their thoughts on it and if this is something warranty covers. Was told it looks like someone took heat to it purposely. Now I'm trying to find a body shop to see if it is repairable or if it needs replacing.
