Lost my credit card key and what to do after
Hi guys,
I lost my wallet yesterday which had my credit card key (Part# 89904-53511) to my 14 IS350 AWD and I'm a bit concerned about someone possibly having the key to my car and my address (from my license). I want to make sure no one can access the vehicle but me. I'm hoping to find someone that's been in the same situation and advise me on what I need to do to resecure my car (ie: reprogram the keys, change out the lock)? Also, I plan to order a new credit card key and wanted to know a good place to buy a replacement key. So far, I've found discountpartsmonster.com has it for $199.25 with the key but if anyone knows of a better deal, please let me know.

The dealer will be able to erase all the key codes except one, the one they use to initiate the erasure procedure.
At that same time they can then program any other keys that are present.
Any keys not programmed at that time will be rendered useless.
When you go to the dealer, bring all keys that you have with you.

Unfortunately the physical key will be able to open the doors still...the dealer made an appropriate suggestion.

Damn, that sucks, sorry to hear. Make sure to cancel all your credit cards as well. As for the lost key, my advice would be to call or go to a dealer and ask their advice - Can they reprogram remaining keys and change manual lock? Can they somehow invalidate the credit card key code so it can no longer access the vehicle?
Hopefully, whomever finds your wallet will be a good samaritan and contact you - in the mean time, can't be too careful. Good luck.

The first thing I did was cancel every credit I had right away and get a replacement license. I contacted one dealer so far and they wanted $250 to reprogram all the keys and $360 for the card key itself. I'm going to call a few more places in the meantime.

That's definitely a little pricey. Considering the reprogram doesn't require parts, just the Techstream, that's all labor they are charging. Anything more than $100 (or 1 hour labor) IMO and they are clearly suffering sunstroke.

I'm also wondering if a local lockmith could change out the locks and reprograming the keys since many reprogram keyfobs anyways. However, would that affect my warranty?

As for warranty, it wouldn't be any different than if you did it yourself. If the locksmith screws up something, then they are responsible...if you screwed up something, you're responsible.
In a very basic sense, warranty covers "manufacturer defects"...there is nothing about your situation that is a manufacturers defect.
