Default Key fob not working - not a battery issue

There is an issue with my pairing of keys with my car, both my key fobs wont work to unlock car and I have to hold the key to the start button to start the car

What you have described above is a typical symptom of the fob battery being dead.
When were the batteries replaced last? Where are the keys stored when the car is parked (i.e. overnight)?
