How can I determine if a set of 18 inch aftermarket wheels will clear the front brakes on my IS350. The ones I'm looking at are 18x8 +35 offset. Is any wheel with a lower offset guaranteed to clear the brakes?

The design of the wheel can also play a factor.

Offset means nothing for clearance of brake calipers.
It is all in the design of the wheel disk spoke and concave and back padding of the wheel face.
No concave or little concave is usually better for big brakes caliper clearance
