Exclamation Is it a good buy?

Offered a brand new 2016 IS 200T for $32K out the door at a dealer here in Charlotte.

Is this a good deal? MSRP is around 39k for the car - but I've brought it down to 32k Including all fees and taxes.

I would like like input here from Lexus family - any issues I should be aware of or anything.

Thanks is advance!

ever thought of getting a pre owned certified 2014 or 2015 is350 f sport instead? Sure u can find it around that price. I got my 2014 is350 pre owned certified for 37k out the door and that was close to two years ago.

price is not shabby. But the real question is can you live with the weak engine. I see a lot of owners on this forum that regret buying the lower engine trim and ended up trading up. By that time, dont be surprised by a 24k trade in offer in a year.

Its an ok deal considering Lexus dealerships are trying to get rid of all the old 2016 models since the 2017 refresh is out. I personally think you should be able to get a bigger discount on it. If you look around on some of the "prices paid" threads here, you'll see some ppl on here were able to knock off close to what you're getting off prior to the 2017 refresh being released.

Also, like the person above said, maybe consider a certified pre-owned f sport model? Take one out for a drive, you may like it better and then you can make your decision. Keep us informed and GL

I'd go NA with 306 HP. Not the 200T for $32k

While speed isn't everything, it sucks to get passed by a Kia Optima or Honda v6 like a you know what.

For reference, I paid $37k OTD 2 months ago for a new 2016 is350 (nav, parking assist, blind spot, ppf). It was right at $10k off sticker.

i think you should be able to do better than $32k

I drove around in a 200T the other day and it's pretty anemic. It has a weird delay from a start and the turbo lag is pretty noticeable. Drive a 350 for comparisons sake and you'll notice a tremendous difference in power, throttle response, and overall flexibility of the engine. If you get a 350 F-Sport, you'll notice a big difference in handling due to AVS. I'm really disappointed in the 200T.

the op should skip the headache of upgrading and just pick up a second hand RCF for mid 40s, if OP doesn't mind 2 doors

From a value point of view, I think it's a solid deal. Sales tax in Charlotte is 3% i think? So the vehicle price is around $31k for a roughly 21% off MSRP.

at first, i was wondering why anyone would suggest a car that's 50% more than the car that OP is looking for...and then i saw your sig.

to OP, i'm showing charlotte, NC as 7.25%, so before TTL, we'd be looking at a discount of ~25% or so, which i think is pretty solid.

Default Buy L/Certified Instead

There is $4000 dealer cash on 2016 IS models so $5000 below invoice is a reasonable expectation. You would be better off finding a L/Certified model - your warranty would be better and you would get the first four services for free.
