Default Yeah yeah, I know I need gas !

Previous vehicle - 2004 IS 300
Current vehicle - 2017 IS 300 F sport with nav

Car is running low on gas, here's what happens:
Previous vehicle - Gas gauge needle almost at 'E', yellow LED illuminates to indicate low gas.
Current vehicle - LCD gas gauge shows almost nothing, changes color from white to yellow; yellow gas pump icon illuminates; 'low fuel' appears in the message area below the digital speedo; console display changes from my setting to show the radio over to nav with a list of the closest gas stations.

Technology, gotta love it.
OK, I'm done. Time to shoo the kids off the lawn and yell at some passing clouds.

If I get anywhere below a 1/4 of a tank, I refuel. I've always heard conventional wisdom of not letting fuel run too low too often due to sediments in the tank.

Good to know what would happen if it gets low - might be kinda jarring to see that reaction from the car out of the blue.

You can suck crap out of the bottom of your tank and most fuel pumps are cooled by being submerged in the fuel and the fuel running through them acts as a lubricant.

I love that the car car is trying to protect itself and tell you to fill it up.

you can turn off the nav gas reminder showing you the gas stations, bugs the cr@p out of me, there is a setting in the nav to disable it.

using the back arrow on the steering wheel will clear the digital message area, and it won't return.
