I'd paint that diffuser gloss black or to match the stock F sport grill. that would be so classy.

i was examining ebay photos and it appears you can get away with it with the bumper on the car. by laying under. i thought about it myself. haven't confirmed, but seems very possible. the hard fasteners to reach are by the tire.

Not possible. There is a phillips screw holding the red reflector on the bumper. That reflector has to come off before the diffuser can come off.
You are not going to get a phillips screw into that spot from the back without taking off the bumper.
The bumper HAS to come off.....
Been there done that.

Any update to this? Was interesting in possibly installing this on my 2015 is250 f sport. I personally love the new diffuser. Was looking into aftermarket diffusers like stillen and aimgain but I think the stock 2017 diffuser looks great.

Was unable to find the part # for the tips, anybody have that? Also what is COVER, RR BUMPER, LW

Update to this.

I ordered the 2017 rear diffuser off of discountpartsmonster for 278 shipped

part# 52108-53060

I then ordered the 2017 muffler tips from Amayama for 290 shipped.

part#1740831110 - Right tip
part#1740831120 - Left tip

These are the RC tips from 2015 which are being used on the 2017 IS models. Definitely cheaper than buying tips from US Lexus sellers as the cheapest I could find was 470 shipped for the muffler tips.

I'll be installing the diffuser myself by using a youtube video of a guy removing a 2014 lexus rear bumper. And then taking the muffler tips to a muffler shop for installation. I'll post before and after pictures!

If anybody has done this before... tips or helpful hints would be appreciated

I was so excited that I put on the diffuser yesterday! Tips won't come in for another two weeks but oh well.

Summary: It was my first time working with a car (other than the f sport intake I installed a week earlier) but I have to say it's pretty intuitive to take off the rear bumper. The video and pdf really helped. It's pretty crazy how the bumper is held on by 4 10mm screw, 6 plastic clips, and snap clips built into the bumper

Took me about two hours and the hardest part was getting the diffuser off. Separating the diffuser from the bumper was not bad at all. Hardest part was definitely mounting the bumper again. If I could go back and do it again I would have gotten a friend to help me mount the bumper.

I'll post pictures when I get a chance!

Makes sense it's easy to come off. If it's hard to come off, it's hard to put on. and that wouldn't make very much sense from a manufacturing stand point. if it's anything like the 2016 CT bumper which i tore off the afternoon i drove it home from the showroom, it should be easy too.

sooo where's the pics of the new diffuser?

Pics please!
I am very very curious how odd it looks with the stock tips on the new diffuser! or does it not look out of place at all?

I'll post some later this evening! I finished putting the bumper in the garage at night so wasn't able to get any good pictures with lighting.

I personally think it looks out of place and it would definitely need a quad tip exhaust or the new tips to look good.. but you all can judge when I put the pictures up later

How much were the tips? New from Lexus or are they second-hand?

These were new from Lexus! OEM brand new parts being shipped from Japan. I think the cheapest I saw in the US was about 420 shipped from a lexus dealer

@winstonchu Thanks for the photos,Do you have a better camera? photos a bit blurry. In the last photo, the floor is clearly focus but the car isnt

Could you take some more in direct light showing the rear end and also a side profile of the diffuser in relation to the muffler tips (does it stick out or get hidden)?
