What should Lexus focus on changing/improving for the next generation Lexus IS?
#31
The IS350 needs more HP/torque. I'd say about 40 more foot lbs of torque and about the same in HP.
Memory seats in the F Sport package. The 2014 Accord I owned had memory seats tied to each fob. I didn't have to press any buttons in n the car. Only had to get in and go.
The IS series needs a wide angle camera on the passenger side mirror that activates with the turn signal or button. The side mirrors are pretty small (not the housing). Also I hate the blind spot warning lights on the side mirrors. The blind spot camera is my favorite option on a Honda right now and I'm surprised to see no other company adoption it other than GMC on their top trim Sierras.

Requested changes:
Apple Carplay and Android Auto are becoming must-haves.
Paint that does not chip so easily.
improve performance and economy on the V6, or execute a well thought out weight reduction of say 300 lbs.
Do not increase the size of the car.

I'd love to have a little more power from the engine. Don't get me wrong, it's plenty for daily city driving, but a little more for highway would be nice.
id also love to have memory seats, power folding mirrors. Foot activated trunk would be cool too. Rear seat heaters seem to be available on lots of non luxury cars. That would be a nice addition for the is.
would also be nice to have that hand rest by the remote touch thing, be usable storage underneath.
Maybe a center locking diff system like what the nx has would be nice too.
haha, perhaps I'm asking too much from this particular class of car.

IS200T changes:
- Nicer wheels for the base model, this size car should not come on 17" wheels, 18" should be the minimum.
- Backup Camera as standard equipment, the screen is already standard, you may as well add the camera to it.
- Door handle lights (like BMW).
- Proper space to put a cell phone (Make the size suited for phones with cases, since everyone has a case these days.)
- Slightly bigger glove compartment.
- Front USB port or wireless charging for phones.
- Heated rear seats.
- Reduce the lag when needing to accelerate.
Aside from that, don't change anything else on the car. It's perfect like that.
If someone from Lexus is actually reading this, a big plus to finally fixing the water mark that the 2IS would have after a car wash, from the mirrors. The 3IS does not have this issue Come to think of it, there is zero water marks after washing this car, which is fantastic!

Also, there needs to be differentiation between the luxury packaged cars and the base model. I own two ISs and one is clearly an F-Sport with all sorts of differences between it and the base model. My luxury packaged car, however, has no external discernible differences between it and the base version. That needs to change.

Kill:
1. Time to update the engine, and especially for the AWD model the transmission as it's the old slush box 6-speed. 19-20mpg city and low 20s highway (F-sport, AWD) is just poor.
2. Android auto and CarPlay support needs to happen yesterday. It's pretty unacceptable that even the 100k LC500 can't compete based on tech. The movable display in the F-sport is begging to be able to mirror my phone.
3. Options packaging that doesn't allow you to have F-sport seats and basics like memory seats...
4. Perhaps the staggered tire setup on the F-sport
5. Paint that seems really thin and easy to damage
Keep:
1. Adjustable suspension and awesome brakes on the F-sport (yes, it chews through pads but that's the price of higher performance brakes. Thankfully super easy to DIY replace).
2. The F-sport seats
3. Non-boring styling...just make sure it works as well as the LC500.
3. Suspension and steering calibration like BMW used to do. Do not follow the F80 3 series!
Add:
Can we have the V8 in an IS-F now that Lexus actually has some properly good bones to stick it in?

Better engines, transmission update.
Design based on LC500 not the upgraded 2017 IS, hate the front end.
Better Nav/Screen graphics.
Hopefully, IS-F with a 4.0T V8 making around 500 HP, LSD and better suspension. That would be the perfect Lexus IS.
