Default New tires for 3IS. 18in staggered fitment.

Hello,

I'm up for a new set of tires on my 2015 Lexus is250. I am looking into getting Toyo proxes 4 plus or michelin pilot sport a/s 3 plus. But I am not truly sold on either one. My priorities in a tie are noise, comfort and durability. I would like some more suggestions or input before putting down about 1k on tires. Thanks.

I've been shopping myself and also have the same criteria you have. My local tire shop suggested the Michelins you mentioned, Continental DWS06 and also Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S V405. I'm likely going to get the Yokohamas personally since they were the cheapest of the 3, have some decent reviews, and as a personal thing, I prefer a Japanese-branded tire for a Japanese car, just as I would get American tires for an American car.

Let us know what you end up getting. My experience with low profile Toyos of any model (A/S and summers) is that they never last long despite the price. Here in Canada at least, they are quite expensive since they don't sell in huge volumes relative to other brands and models.

If performance isn't exactly needed, why not get a touring tire like the Michelin mxv4? Or conti pro contact? They're relatively quiet and comfortable tires.

I am really happy with my Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport.
