Default Leather seat peeling off. Does warranty cover this issue?

Hello owners,

Recently I bought 2014 IS 250 F sports.

This is Lexus Certified Preowned vehicle.

It has 32,000 mileage now.

I have issue with driver sode leather seat.

It is start peeling off now.

I would like to repair as soon as I can.

I want to know the lexus cover this isuue under the warranty.

I heard that L/certified preowned car is valid for 6 years/unlimited mileage.

If the warranty does not cover this leather seat peeling off issues, how can I deal with this problem?

I need your help.

Thank you,

Best regards,

2014s have a known leather issue. My dealer and corporate said it's normal wear and tear. (My seats are creased) Pretty stupid in my opinion

yeah, leather is only available with the luxury package and the luxury package is rare. i think it's more likely to come with the 350 non-f-sport than it is with the 250. i had the car ordered with the limited packages and features available. lexus likes the one-size-fits-all approach. annoying.

that's only if you pay for the extended service contract. did you?

anyhow, if you're within warranty, then it will likely be covered. if you're out of warranty, then it's very probable that you will have to pay out of pocket.

looks like the issue some c6 vette owners were having because they were actually sliding down the seat bolster when entering the car. not saying you're doing that but maybe the previous owner did. once you get it fixed...don't slide down the seat.

I bought car at Lexus dealership and they said this car is on Lexus-certified pre-owned. So, I did not have to pay any dollar when I bought this car.

What do you think guys?

Does the Warranty cover this issue?

Basic Lexus warranty covers during 4 yr or 50,000miles which come first.

So, no matter my car is on L/Certified pre-owned or not.

Please let me know the warranty can cover this issue or not.

Best Regards,

Call the dealer and ask. I think it's been pretty hit or miss....some folks got it replaced under warranty, some didn't.

They're probably going to tell you it's normal wear and tear, usually a hit or miss from what I've seen people say on here (as the person above mentioned ^).

If one dealer says its not covered just go and try another one.

This isn't leather, it is Nuluxe. I have had many cars with leather interior (now own an IS with leather) and never saw this type of wear on leather. The wear&tear on leather looks very different and in my opinion a lot better, I actually love the look&feel of a lightly weathered leather but this peel-off (seen here before quite a few times) looks unfortunately ugly, exposes the cheapness of the material.

That's not wear and tear. That's product failure. Are they wanting us to believe that the finish on the leather (not simple creases) won't last 4 years under normal or regular usage? That Lexus chose a product (Nuluxe) for their seats that fails so easily? A 2014 with 32k miles should be under warranty unless it was one of the first units sold.
