Default 2016 is200t 10k breaks & rotor replacment.

Hello,

Brought my car in for 10k maintenance, and I told the dealer my breaks are screaming loud, gridding noise at all time.

Dealer said my breaks pads and rotors are shot because we drive in the city, and my girlfriend might have "heavy breaking foot". We live in San Francisco if that makes a difference. Oh so they are going to charge me $599, the rep told me to fix it elsewhere if you know a shop, because we will save on labor. They told me they have seen people come in at 4k miles, but is isn't a part defect.

Anyways, it looks like I'm up for new break pads and rotors.

I am looking for slotted brake rotors with pads? Does anyone have any good combination suggestion? Ideally something with less brake dust and last longer?

Thanks in advance

Get stoptech rotors + Akebono ceramic pads

They last long + no dust at all

I live in the Bay Area too. 23k odo on stock rotors/pad on my '16 IS350.

Also on stock tires too.

No problems.

By "shot", did he give you a measurement on how much of your pads were left? Just curious... the "heavy braking foot" thing sounds suspect to me. Then again if they are literally making noise all the time as you say, perhaps it's legit.

I'm at just over 12k miles with about half my F Sport brake pads left, and I do mostly city driving.
