Hi. I'm new here and probably doing this wrong but...
My exhaust tip was stolen off my 2016 IS 200t f Sport and I bought the factory one from the dealership to replace it (which was dumb but I was in a hurry). The parts guy told me it just slips and clips and it was no big deal but I cannot get the damn thing to slide all the way on and certainly isn't "locked" in place. I'm not exactly a novice when it comes to fixing things but... I am worried that exerting too much pressure is the wrong way to go.
Help! Anybody done this or have advice?

I recently put a replacement exhaust tip on as well. The parts guy is right, it's just an incredibly tight squeeze. Make sure you line it up straight and push it on, using both of your hands/palms on the either side of the tip. Make sure to push with equal pressure so it goes on straight. I found it difficult to get it on just the right amount with my hands. So for final adjustments, I put a towel over the tip and used a rubber mallet to gently tap it into the right place. If you need to straighten it out, just use your hands to rotate it.

I too just replaced my 2014 IS 250’s exhaust tip. I simply pressed it on with as much evenly applied pressure using the palms of my hands as I could. I then covered the tip with a towel, sat on my rear end and used my foot to press it on. I heard the audible click and it was on. I wouldn’t pay anyone to do something this simple.
