Default How to tell if the shop painted the bumper properly?

Hello! I recently purchased a 2016 IS350 and the bottom lip on the bumper was scraped. The dealer promised to paint it and make it look new but the paint slowly peeled when xpel film was applied and removed. I noticed the paint was super thin and no primer behind it. After some discussions, they agreed to paint the entire bumper for a fixed price but I am a little nervous and want to know how I can tell if the bumper was properly primed and re-painted. Any advise?

If you freshly painted something, you need to let the paint cure XX weeks before you apply the clear bra. I don't know the exact time to wait, but ask your clear bra guy...

If they did a proper job and baked the paint, there is virtually no wait time. But the average shop will say wait 1 month to cover their butts.

That's exactly what the body shop told me after I got a new bumper recently.

I wouldn’t trust them again. I learned the hard way and had my lip painted twice and it looks pretty bad from up close.
