Default 3is burning oil?

Has anyone noticed their 3is burning oil? iv driven my 2015 is250 for about 4000 miles and the oil is already down to the low mark on the dipstick. Not sure if i even feel safe going 10k on every oil change as factory recommends.

Default Not normal

If you are saying that in 4000 miles the oil level went from full to low, then that is not normal. I usually add NO oil between 10K mile changes.

You need to get your car checked, i have been driving my car for more than 60k miles, and never seen any oil consumption

So I came from an Audi A4 that was hemorrhaging oil and it made me pretty conscious of oil change intervals. Is 10k really safe? I'm used to 5k intervals maximum, with me doing it every 3k to be on the safe and proactive side. Does the 3IS really not burn oil and not require topping off? Sorry about the thread hi-jack.

I don't notice any oil consumption in my 3IS with 10k oil change intervals. I am actually kind of surprised as I was expecting some at 10k

Turbo cars tend to burn more oil and runs a lot hotter then most cars. But unless you are pushing these cars, which 90% of the lexus owners will not do, the oil consumption is none issue.

Is it really safe to wait 10k between oil changes though?

yes. Lexus oils can last up to 15k miles. but 10k, is where the filter will take you safely
