Mixing tire brands back and front
The rear Turanzas on my 15 IS350F AWD are good but the fronts need replacement. My first choice is Michelins, but dealer and TireRack say not to mix brands on an AWD.
Anyone tried it (not necessarily this specific mix - any combination)?
I don't understand why it should be bad for the AWD.
Or is it all just a sales spiel?

The actual measurements on different tires may vary just a bit, depending on the tread pattern etc.
But I don't believe that this could be a problem. Definitely not a problem, if you get the same size tires with a similar tread pattern, but from another manufacturer.

My certified AWD pre-owned bought from Lexus came with 2 different tire brands. I insisted the sales rep that this was not right (since I have always heard when buying tires for awd) but she was pretty confident and even consulted with shop manager (after me insisting) and he also said that they do it all the time. I am still under warranty but I always wondered about this. Are these new awd compensating for this.
