2017 IS 200t F-Sport vs IS 300
Hey all! I currently have two offers on hand for the same OTD price for either a 2017 IS 200t F-Sport or a 2017 IS 300 (No F-Sport).
I have been driving a 2015 IS 250 F-Sport and haven't had any issues with the power since I can't really do much in my area (DC). I have enjoyed the smoothness of the V6 engine. One plus I'm looking forward to if I get the 200t is the gas mileage since it looks like its a lot better than the other IS models.
I'm looking to hear some feedback from anyone who's driven either one or both of these cars/engines. Any pointers I should know about or direction I should go?

I've checked the surrounding states for all of their inventory and none have a 2017 IS 300 in F Sport unfortunately. 2017 stock is getting quite low around here it seems. But at the 35K price after all fees, I can't pass that up. Gotta go with one of these options now.

I understand there’s a big engine difference between the two. With that said, how different was the driving experience between the two?
Does the 4 cylinder turbo make more engine noise in general or is it on par with the V6 engine?

I like the turbo experience more...I’d say about the same noise level, but with a tiny bit of blowoff valve with you get on the 200t. Turbo lag. Turbo lag. Turbo lag. I feel it a lot, BUT you get use to it.

For the turbo lag, do you mind explaining how that feels like or when that happens?
Like is it noticeable in day to day driving or only during spirited driving?

Turbo lag on take off isn’t too bad in sport mode or normal mode. I personally think the worst is when doing a quick accerlation while already moving like on the highway or moving in slow moving traffic. I’ve just learned to deal with it but the highway gas mileage is something that I couldn’t pass up!

Got a chance to test drive a 200t yesterday. The turbo lag is definitely very noticeable when you accelerate quick from a dead stop. Seemed like it was also noticeable in lower speeds. But when the acceleration kicked in it felt like it pulled pretty fast.
Also got a chance to drive the 300 which was nice due to the V6 but I’ll be going with the 200t due it having the F-sport package. In general, I believe the 200t will feel normal in day to day driving since I won’t be hitting the accelerator that hard that often.
