My 2019 IS 300 F sport has this issue too. So far it's happened in like 2/9 fill-ups and it happened today. It filled up 70% of the tank and stopped at 8 gallons. My dumbass went to another pump to finish it off LOL.

Its not a issue with the vehicle, most likely a issue with the pumps themselves. At the gas station near my house the same thing would happen when I would put gas in my old montego, my mustang, and my is, but any other spot I fill up at would be fine. What I found to work well is angle it down some, and dont squeeze the lever all the way, just like 3/4 of the way. Just don't pull it back cause you run the chance if overfilling and getting gas spills

Never had it happened to me but on a company car at a very specific gas station brand no matter what location you fill at. Trick was to hold it about an inch from sealed position and pump from there. Personally Chevron and Shell never had any issues like that yet I hope. It may be that some gas stations have more sensitive nozzles detecting gas vapor concentrations?

I've had it happen to me at 2 gas stations local to me. i think it's just the nozzle design, i just tilt the butt end of the nozzle higher and keep going until I know i'm at least 80% full
