I am perplexed because I’m about to hit 15k and fully expected to need tires now. I am not super gentle on my IS (that’s what en ES is for) so I expected tired to be done by now. However, I have surprisingly even wear on my 2019 F Sport.
Do other 2017-2020 F Sport owners have more uneven wear than me? I wonder if it’s more of a 2014-2016 epidemic.
My car is a Lexus is250 F Sport AWD and change the full set of tires Michellin 2 years ago. Immediately align the car and 1 year later again. Now my tires almost gone, I need to buy the full set of tires again, I went to the mechanic and they told me is a common issue for the sport performance of those cars. I ran 22k miles with those tires so now Im looking for the best options:
- For sure I need to buy a new tires
- Is there any part I can change to fix this problem?

a ton of posts on here about upgrading the front Lower Control Arm Bushings (refereed to as LCA Bushings) most frequently from the Lexus RCF / GSF. I did this on my 2015 350 and front tires wear even now.
Parts are cheap and you should not pay more than 1 hour labor max. Super easy job.
^ To add to that, note that changing the bushings likely will not completely eliminate the issue, especially if you go for the RC F bushings, which are still rubber.
Just changed my summer's to my winters and seen this nice suprise. Just had my tires realigned last fall at Kaltire when I bought new winters. I was thinking this was cause they messed up on the alignment ( which I'm still convinced is part of the problem since they all 4 tires veary in wear) but now that I see I'm not the only one, it's just a problem lexus really needs to adresse. I remember calling about a weird rubbing noise taking sharp turns, like when my wheel is crank all the way to the left or right but is supposedly because the agressive alignment. Plus I checked and doesn't seem to be touching anywhere. Cost me a set of tires that probably would of had atleast another season left.
Sorry about the bad pictures, there shots from a video that I couldn't post.

Welcome! First of all, I would say the alignment on our cars from factory is not "aggressive". The camber in the front is > -1 degrees from factory - in fact, on my 2016, it was only -0.5 on the fronts.
With that out of the way, the issue with inner tire wear is common to these cars. Alignment can help or hurt, but it will not solve the problem on its own. The first post in the following thread contains more info: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...tire-wear.html
I’ve had Conti ExtremeContact dws06 on my 2015 350 FS AWD for 3 years and about 50,000+ km with aggressive driving tires still in excellent condition, wearing almost perfectly...prior to upgrading to the RCF/GSF LCA bushings I had horrible wear.
Best upgrade I’ve ever done on a car...
paid less than $300 for parts and labor.
alignment and upgraded lca bushings should be first thing you do.
Im assuming at some point they upgraded and the newer ones don’t have the issue

Thanks for the info! I did see a couple threads saying the LCA bushings helped alot. Doesn't seem to complicated to replace either so I should be able to do it my self. Although, my left rear tire is also wrecked along with my fronts. Would that mean it's my alignment since my rears wore unevenly or would changing both front and rear lower bushings help? Cause I've only seen people mention front tire wear, nothing really on rears.

Do you give them custom alignment spec? Can you post your alignment sheet? I'm concerned about camber & toe front and rear
If the tires are so far worn that the metal threads are showing, then it's shot. But has anyone that has fronts not that far gone, but showing extreme wear on the inside considered the cost to have the tires removed and turned around? If the rest of the tread is less than half worn, it may be worthwhile.
I think my local Discount Tire would do the reversal for free since I've paid for the replacement warranty that they are real good about. They have, for example, on one occasion, replaced at no charge four truck tires that were 10 years old and had some small tread separation.
ok awesome. Thanks so much for the fast reply!
how long have you had them? Notice any differences?
Mine were installed when I got the car in May and to be honest, they make the overall drive more like stock which is why many like these. It rides very close to original bushings but help with the tire wear. Where I noticed the most difference is under a harder braking, car feels a bit more planted.
If you want a smdrastic improvement in handling, after market bushings are suggested but they are a bit more expensive and can be a bit more noisy/harsh.
