Default Windshield wipers skipping

Ive tried deep cleaning the blades and windshield. Use rainx, fairly new blades and yet they still skip. Going back down is the worst but going up is pretty bad too.
Any solutions?

Don’t know your weather but winter is hard on rubber. I’d put in new inserts

Really? Should I deep clean the windshield and not apply wax or rainx again?

Rainx is crap. I used aquapel on the lexus, skipped first time it rained, and never again since. I used gtecniqe on my other car, never skipped. The stuff i used on my other car I applied about 3 years ago, still works great. Beads water like it did when I applied it. I rarely if ever use anything more than intermittent on my other car. With the lexus I just let it do it’s thing. Aquapel still works great, but I only applied it back in August so it hasn’t actually been that long.

Never had great results with rainx stuff. Or at least it never lasted as long as I wanted considering the effort it took.

the blades on my RCF skip like crazy and changing the blades has never helped, and I've never used anything on my windshield, RainX or otherwise, I use soap and water and a microfiber, and have done so for years with all my cars, and none of my other cars have had this issue.

the only thing that has "solved" it, though be it only temporarily has been using a razor blade on the windshield to clean off whatever sticks to it in those areas causing the skip. doing so stops the skip for a week or two.. frankly it is very irritating, and I have no idea why I only have the issue with the Lexus, and not any other car.

Whenever my detail shop details my car, they use claybar on the glass along with the body. Don't know if it'll help u or not, but an idea to try...

I just cleaned it, clayed it then applied meguiars wax and it hasn’t skipped since. Maybe rainx leaves a sticky film that the rubber gets caught on?

I've used Rain-X when i lived in the Northeast 2004 and prior and never had problems with it. However, they might have reformulated it since then.

Now that i'm living in LA, i use my wiper blades like 3 times/year :P
