my wipers started to not work properly. when i pull up on the stalk, it won't wipe once. when i pull down to go into intermittent mode, it won't work. when i pull the stalk towards me, fluid would shoot out but wipers won't move. when i pull down all the way to fast and super fast mode is when it worked. however, when i try to stop the wipers, i had to pull the stalk all the way up and the wipers would stop randomly on the windshield. anyone ever experience this? is this an easy fix or would i have to bring it in?
I’ve actually had this issue when I first bought my ‘14 IS250. (Used) I never got a chance to take it to my dealer and it lasted a few weeks. All of a sudden it starts working the way it should.. so I’m not sure what the problem was but it went away magically for me
Did you ever find a good resource on how to replace the switch? I've looked on google a bit but havent found anything yet. My warranty expired 3 days after my wipers started acting up
I just experienced this issue again. I've swapped them around once. This time I ordered 2 relays from rockauto. Haven't driven around in the rain yet, but from just fiddling with the wiper controls the issues seem to have gone away.
The one in my car was labled as:
Toyota
9087-04004
156700-0860
12V
Denso.
The one that I received after searching it's part number was:
Denso 567-002
Usually when the wipers don't stop (Park) in the proper position, but stop in a random position on the windshield, it's the fault of the Wiper Motor.
The motor receives a signal to stop wiping, but the motor is what controls the final Park position once it receives the signal to stop operation.
If the vehicle is experiencing a bunch of issues with the wipers that includes not parking at the proper position, then I would replace the motor.
While the relays or switch can cause some of those issues, the only part that will cause the wipers to not park in the proper position is the motor.
The fact the wipers will stop (anywhere) tells me that the switch and relays are working properly, at least at that moment.
