Is it possible to turn off the DRL while the headlights are on? Or, does the DRL always come on when headlights are on?

Right -- I know about that feature. I think that only turns off DRL when your headlights are not necessarily on as well so that you don't have to turn it off using the stalk.
However, I'm wondering if I can turn my headlights on at night without having the DRL portion light up as well. Not sure if this makes sense. I've tested it and the DRL always comes on at night when the headlights are on..

The DRL has two modes.
100% intensity brightness
and
50% intensity brightness
100% is the standard DRL
50% is when the headlights are on, technically ON at same time as "parking lights"
If you truly want it not to come on you can physically cut or disconnect the wire at the DRL housing itself to disable it.
There are 3 sets of wire going to it, one just needs to be pulled then 100% intensity will remain working
