Default Bought Niche Misano M117s and they don't fit!

Hi guys, New member here. Just bought an Atomic Silver 2014 IS350 AWD and love the car! I bought a set of Niche Misano M117s and the front wheels won't clear the caliper. I got a staggered setup with 18X8 fronts and 18X9.5 rears. All have a +40 offset. I know the stock wheels are 18X8 with a +45 offset. What offset is correct for an 8 inch wheel on the front of these cars? Niche doesn't offer these wheels in anything other than 40 offset so not sure what to do at this point. Was thinking a 1/2 inch spacer might work but was hoping you guys might have some advice. I have looked through the aftermarket wheels thread and there are so many different sizes/options but I didn't see a lot of 8 inch wheels. Thanks in advance.

Hi...Welcome!

First off, that's a nice looking wheel you chose, sorry it doesn't fit.
Looking through the wheel thread, i doubt there is one 8 inch front wheel in there other than a stock rim.
In theory they should have fit, but I fear either the backset or the rim design (or both) are why it won't fit.
Your choices now are a spacer or if they have an 8.5 inch rim in the same style. You should be able to use the same tire front the 8 inch rim with the 8.5 inch rim.

Thanks for the input. It's what I was thinking. I don't want to go through the trouble of finding a different wheel so it looks like I need to find some spacers asap! Niche doesn't make these in a 8.5 from what I have found but agree that would be perfect.

Yes, like Sasnuke stated, sometimes its the wheel design or possibly even wrong measurements (did you measure the offset prior to buying?)

that' crazy I didn't believe niche when the told me the 18x8 wouldnt fit because the clearance on the caliper. I have niche misanos 19x8.5 in front +35mm offset and there is no clearance issue. Back is 19x9.5 +35mm. There is a .33 of an inch difference in our set ups in the front. So I would get 1/2inch spacer or 10mm. I love my wheels.

Yeah, it's literally the spoke design from what I can see. I checked the wheel thread a hundred times. Then I searched the wheels and verified fitment with the vendor I bought them from. The offset is correct and would be perfect if it was just an 8.5" rim instead. I'm going to order 10mm spacers and hopefully that'll do the trick. The wheels are killer so I'm going to do whatever it takes to get them on the car! Will a 10mm spacer be safe with the stock studs or do I need to put longer studs on the car?

After research I see that 10mm needs longer studs. Just ordered them so hopefully that will solve the problem. Really appreciate the input and advice. This seems to be a really good forum.

Hey guys, bringing this back up because I was also looking into getting these wheels. Did the 10mm spacers end up working for you? If not wondering if a 19inch set up would work?

I have a set of these exact wheels in 20" up for grabs if you're interested. PM me.

19x8.5 ET33 will fit with no issue, the 18x8 ET40 will not work and will need 10mm spacer

Barely seeing this! Thanks for the reply, I wanted to run a staggered set up. Do you think for the rear a 19x9.5 +35 offset would work?

Usually for the rear a guaranteed clearance would be 19x9.5 +38 (or higher offset).
You could try the +35, but I wouldn't go any bigger than a 255/30/19 tire...and something that has rounded sidewalls, so no Michelins.

Looking to grab 18x9.5 +40mm Misano's for my 2006 IS 350. I have 18x9.5 +35mm Rays rn but selling them; they clear the calipers up front due to +35mm offset and their spoke design. Anyone know if the Misano's would clear?
