Default Memory Seat Addition

Has anyone added memory seats to there F-Sport? My 2017 didn't have the comfort package option (dumb)!!
I searched the forums and yielded zero results.

I'm guessing and the wires and plugs are in place, it's just a matter of buying the switch for the door?

Its a bit more complicated than just a switch some wires and plugs.
Its Computer controlled.

One would think the computer already has the coding, but nothing attached to it.

I'll plug it into Techstream and see if I can find any settings for it or see if there's an enable/disable option.

Please let us know your findings, I’d love to see if this is a feasible retrofit.

Found a lot of stuff out yesterday. Each seat has the control computer mounted under it. The wiring harnesses are in place for the switch in the door and under the seats. The big issue will be the encoder on the motors. You would have to replace all the motors on the seats.
The best option would be to find a salvaged IS with the option and yank the seats out of it and purchase the buttons for the door.

I think the dealer only wants $600 for the option, which is installed at the factory. This price sounds extremely reasonable!

I'm going to look at the schematics then start finding all the part numbers to price out. My guess is...it will be more expensive than the $600 asking price.

It will be a lot more than $600 unfortunately. This is an option best installed at the factory.

thats why nobody wants to attempt this retrofit conversion...
maybe worthwhile when there are more totaled cars in a couple of years to scavenger off of.

I just poured through the schematics for the 2017+ models and called the dealer to confirm. I'm happy to report, it will be quite easy to do. There's only one part number for the seat motors (i.e. encoders are already on the motors).
The memory is controlled by the LH and RH mirror ECU. There's two part numbers. One with seat memory (Luxury Package) and one without seat memory.

LH/Driver side with memory: 89430-53040 $247 Without memory: 89430-53090 http://www.oemlexusparts.com/oempart...943053040.html

RH/Passenger side with memory: 89430-53020 $247 Without memory: 89430-53050 http://www.oemlexusparts.com/oempart...943053020.html

Memory switch LH: 84927-53050-CO $98 http://www.oemlexusparts.com/oempart...2753050C0.html

Does anyone have a picture of the memory switch installed in the car? I want to make sure there's no special trim piece I'm missing. It looks like it mounts right next to the handle.

its got to have a different piece of trim around it

Your thinking just a $98 switch and a $20 piece of trim will get this feature working..... I wonder if the f-sport seats have the same motor under them...

He mentioned that you would need to swap out the motor above. Was honestly surprised when I asked about this option and they said it isn't included in the F-Sport Package for our cars.

Just to clear up confusion, you will still need the seat pan assembly (~$1000) for all of this to work. As mentioned above, I'll wait until I can find a salvaged IS.

This modification will require the new LH and RH mirror ECU's, the seat pan assembly w/memory option motor installed, and a memory switch for the door panel.

If you were to buy everything new, you're looking at ~$1600. So the $600 price tag when purchased new from the dealer is a GREAT value for your money. Unfortunately, the option wasn't available on the F-Sport 2017 models. It is an option on the 2018 models.

All the wiring is in place, so it will be a plug and play project. If anyone were to come across a salvaged memory seat, I would jump on this project!!

Do you happen to have the seat pan assembly product number?

On a side question regarding memory, is there any memory with settings associated with the two different key fabs.
