Default Center AC Vents/Clock Removal

Has anyone removed/replaced their center ac vents/clock?

So I purchased my 15 IS250 F Sport from a Toyota dealership. The clock along with the temp control unit have a fog/scratches on the plastic of both pieces. I took my car in to a local Lexus dealership and they advised that it was caused by the previous owner with some harsh cleaning supplies (outside influence). Fine, I asked for a goodwill to have the parts replaced. Lexus came back with a quote to replace the radio unit/temp control unit/clock, they would pay 8500 for parts, i would be responsible for 600 labor. Long story short, i told them the radio unit does not need to be replaced since it's separate from the temp unit. Since I was saving them thousands on a part I wanted them to cover the labor plus the cost of the 2 parts (about 1750 total+600 labor). Lexus refused and said that the original offer stands. Well, i essentially told them to kiss my a.

I found the clock/vent part for 100 from a wrecked IS and the temp unit for 125. So all in all, it will cost me 225 to replace the parts with my labor.

Has anyone replaced these parts on their car? I've seen a video on how to remove the center dash, so I can follow that for the temp unit. Haven't seen much on the vents/clock. If anyone has a guide, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Where did you find the temperature unit for that price? Did you got to a salvage yard? The temperature part of my dash has a couple scratches on it and I was thinking of potentially wrapping it with vinyl. This would be a much easier process. TIA.

I ordered them from www.ahparts.com , which looks to be a salvage yard. I'd rather spend 125 there than 1200 at the dealership for the same part! You can browse through the various parts by car model, see pictures and pick out what you need. They had 4 in stock when i ordered, so should have at least 3 left. Below are the parts/numbers I ordered. 2015 Lexus Is 250 HEATER/AC CONTROL
