2016 lexus is300 windshield replacement
Hello all,
I am new to the forums. I currently lease a 2016 lexus is300 prem and was hit in the windshield with a rock. Due to the large area of damage, I had to get it replaced. Me being the idiot I am, neglected to ask Lexus if I had to install it with a OEM lexus windshield, or if a OEE pilkington windshield would do. Since insurance mandated OEE windshield, I went ahead and did it. After doing a cursory search online afterwards (stupid i know, should've done before), I found out that Lexus apparently will charge you $2000+ for having an OEE windshield installed?!!!!!!!!
My question to you guys is this. From my research, it seems that the windshield for any 2014 and up lexus IS should fit all models, regardless of trim (200t, 300, 350). Is my assumption correct? And if so, where can I find the cheapest OEM lexus glass? The cheapest I found one was at https://www.discountpartsmonster.com...MtNWwtdjYtZ2Fz for $462.50 with shipping to NJ. I assume that's all I need and with installation costing roughly 200-250 I'll pay around 700 dollars after all is said and done.
Has anyone ever returned a leased lexus with an OEE windshield, and if so, what were the fines associated with it? Trying to figure out if it's worth removing the OEE glass and having OEM glass installed out of pocket. If it's truly a 2k fine, then i'll just eat the 700 and get it installed. I did read a thread that stated keep pushing for OEM glass to insurance, but my deductible is 500 anyway, so not enough of a difference to fight with them for weeks.
Thanks for any help and advice.
Regards,
Teddy

never leased car only bought so don't know much about Lease stuffs, but one thing you need to know, OEM glasses has Lexus LOGO on it, if you're lucky the guy won't check you'll fine, but if you see guy like ME you're dead lol anyways good luck bro.
PS: advice on insurance, well if you want to save 500$ ya why not go into your auto insurance ? weather you go with OEM or aftermarket , thats why we pay insurance every month ?

Thanks for the reply brother. Good to know that the 14-18 are the same. When you say 600 USD for a windshield, do you mean including labor? Or just for the glass itself?
Could you take a look at the link when you get a chance and let me know if that is all I need? If glass is normally going for 600, the price it's at is a steal. Read a thread on here that said that site is legit.

To Noeh,
You are sure that Lexus won't fine me for the installation of a new OEM windshield? I'm reading a lot of differing things, and my dealership is no help. I'm getting vague answers from them.
