Question Ipod not displaying on screen. Steering Wheel Controls not working

Hi
I have 2015 IS350 with ML audio system. I always listen through usb and my iPhone/"iPod". I noticed that song information is not displayed. Its blank. The music still plays, but I have to control it with my phone. I can only select "Source" and "Sound". The steering wheel controls to move to the next sound is not working. I tried holding the power button in for a reset but that didn't fix it. Any suggestions?

Has it always behaved this way, or did it used to display the song/artist info and recently stopped working? Could be the data cable. Try a different cable if you haven't already.

No - Before yesterday it displayed the name of the song, artist, and album picture. I haven't updated my apps or iOS so I know that's not it. I will try another phone and cable though. Was hoping to find another solution.

Are you using the native iOS Music app or are you using a third party service like Spotify?

in my experience, using the USB/iPod function with Spotify doesn’t work correctly. I use Apple Music and it works perfectly.

Are you able to get song info when you use Bluetooth? One way you could possibly test is by loading a song onto your phone, and using the built in Music app, see if the info comes up.

Thanks everyone for the tips. To cut to the chase. I deleted the phone from the car. Added it back and that failed. Then I tried a new cord into the other USB port. It worked. Then I switched it back to the other cord. Its been fine since. I wasnt overly worried about it (I usually can figure bugs out quickly), but the failure to control with he steering wheel buttons had me a little concerned. Glad its all back up now. Hope this helps someone in the future.

The iPod music "index" is downloaded to the radio (not the actual track!) When you swapped to
the cord that worked it completed the transfer and now even the marginal cord can play what
the head unit asks for. Test this out by adding new tracks to the device, continue to use the
questionable cord and then try to search for the new song(s). Likely they will not be found.

I’m having the same problem with my 2015 is350 and iPhone X except switching to a new cord isn’t working. Both are apple cords. Music functions worked perfectly fine until about a month ago. Whenever I plug it in the screen says “no music files found”. Channel buttons don’t work on steering wheel. I know this post is old but hopefully someone has some insight lol

Did you ever figure out the issue? I'm in the same boat as you.
