im thinking a heat gun and pushing at it from the inside might work then pay for someone to refinish the area with paint damage

and that's why I leave my dashcam running when I leave my car in a parking lot. I know it's not a guarantee it'll catch the accident, but it's better than nothing.

It looks like its just the bumper. I'm not sure what the going rate is in your state, but in California, you can get a new OEM bumper and painted for roughly $600. I would go this route vs filing a claim and potentially increasing your premiums.
