Tiny tree sap particles
When I park my car at work, I get this very tiny clear particle that gets on all over the car. It's little sticky so I assume it's some kind of tree sap (but it looks very tiny like water sprinkle).
I washed my car immediately after I get home. It all got cleaned up except the hood. I assume the heat from the hood made it "stick" to the paint in a way? Top, sides, trunk and everywhere else is very smooth (it's only 4 weeks old car) but hood feels very rough.
1. Do you think this is tree sap?
2. How do you clean it off? Does clay bar work? Do I need to polish? I'm certainly not going to apply any of those goo-gone products.
TIA!

And yeah, if it is tree sap, clay bar will remove it.

Thanks. The problem with the photo is that I can hardly see it on the surface but I can feel it very easily when I touch the surface.

it's a new car. no need to polish.
just wash it to dislodge any loose dirt then clay it using a high quality clay such as this
You can also select the medium or heavy version depending on how tough the sap is. don't use the auto parts store stuff, it'll shred apart super fast.

You the man!!! I used the claybar and it was like a magic... now the surface is like butter smooth..
But the problem remains.. I can't find any parking at work without trees all over =(
