Default Looking into 2014 IS350 AWD - Question on F-Sport Package

Hi All,

I'm hoping to buy a 2014 IS350 at the end of this year. I plan to go for an AWD model to better deal with Chicago winters. My preferred colors are Atomic Silver, Nebula Gray, or Matador Red for the exterior; and either Flaxen, Light Gray, or Rioja Red (if I get the F-Sport package) for the interior.

So my question is, is the added cost of the F-Sport package worth it? I know it's somewhat subjective. I do like the grille, wheels, and nifty gauge. But from a driver's perspective, it's the addition of the Sport+ mode and suspension that really count. If anyone has driven this car with and without the F-Sport package, can you comment on driving experience? I would say my driving style is spirited.

Thanks for the info.

P.S. My fun weekend car is a '13 FR-S w/ 6-speed.

Just an FYI, I do not believe the 2014 IS F Sport was available in atomic silver. Only the non F Sport could be had in that year in AS. It became available on the 15 F Sport though. Exception is Canada, where you could get a 2014 IS F Sport in Atomic Silver.

F Sport package, for the seats alone, is worth it.

All the other stuff you mention is great too.

much of the suspension stuffs is bigger and firmer.

on the used market, F sport option wont cost you as much as it did new so its an absolute no brainer to get f sport

Thanks @JDR76. Good to know. I basically like all the color choices except black and deep sea, so no worries there.

Thanks @E46CT. Would you consider the F-Sport seats comfortable for extended driving? My commute is 60 minutes each way on average, so goods seats are high on my priority list.

I would go for the F-Sport because of the gauges alone. LFA-Style gauges are too cool to pass up. Its a good combination of the new screen gauges and moving metal piece of the old gauges that gives it that expensive look, in my opinion.

I think the F Sport package is worth it, but remember when searching for a 2014 that you'll be giving up ventilated seats and a heated steering wheel to get it. It's a trade off, and again, I think F Sport is great, but you need to be okay without some other features that can be had on the non F Sport models.

The seats are stellar for long distance. They're praised in just about every review. I think they're the best in class. I just wish they had extending thigh cushions but even for me at 6'0, they're adequate. Could be a tad longer but it's fine i dont notice it. the lumbar is nice.

Personally I wouldn't purchase a IS if it wasn't the f sport model.

I agree with all statements above. I didn't need heated steering wheel or ventilated seats so no issue for me. If you can live without 'em, go 2014 F Sport, if you can't - get a 2015.

Side note - I have a NGP with light gray seats and I love the way it looks. It also seems kind of like a unicorn as nobody seems to have it.

Thanks, guys. So at this point I'm going to plan/budget for a '14 or '15 F-Sport.
