Edwin...was there any other writing or markings on the new blue connector for the display?
I spent some time scouring JAE connectors, and no effing luck. Either the photos that depict them are not 100% accurate, or I'm looking in the wrong places.
This shouldn't be that hard. lol

unfortunately, those are the only markings.
have any of you try looking under the part number you had provided earlier or the K158 code on the spreadsheet you provided?
my guess is that this is a special made plug specific for Lexus. Maybe they signed a contract to not distribute or replicate?
The old plug has a number mark on the plug itself. The new plug does not.

Common Edwin...that would be too easy. We need to make this as ridiculously and impossible as humanly possible. Get with the program!! LOL!!

But seriously, the K158 is just the Lexus label for the connector on the wiring diagram, so that's not going to go anywhere.
The part number for the connector is a bust on Google searches.
I'm thinking the connector is likely made in Japan along with the rest of the harness. Not necessarily the connector is sold in North America.
That's my working theory.

The hunt continues...

Ok...so it just wasn't me that failed lol
I wonder if the connector is produced in Japan and that's why we can't find it on North American sites and listings.

Considering the car is put together in Japan it’s very likely most the electrical parts are sourced there.

While your statement is true.
JAE, a Japanese company has North American branch/headquarters as does many other Tier 1 suppliers.

Hmm I guess it would make sense that way they can distribute to dealerships, etc without having to ship all the way from Japan but on the other hand why make a part like that available to all your branches if it’s not constantly ordered it’s not cost effective anyways somewhat off topic doesn’t matter. What does matter is that the part is found so everyone can upgrade to the bigger screen.

Started slowly picking up some pieces as I find them as well.
Who else is gonna join the Retrofit club with me and Edwin?

ended up buying entire center console just for the Navi Joystick Mouse piece

Seller threw in these two side knee panels but they are torn up so will need to search for replacement of these.

now need to find the Display and Headunit itself.

Very nice SpecOne. I am glad that I am not the only one that’s going to do this.
I haven’t been able to get my car back from the shop yet. So I haven’t installed the parts. I’ll do try and take pictures of the process so that y’all have it in case anyone wants to do it.
