To run android (or iphone) on your screen you need just to buy this http://ali.pub/3jh16i (US $40.56)

The unit comes with its own apps. Some of this apps need to use the box’s own GPS and speaker to be able locate an communicate. However, I have used YouTube, Waze and a few other apps from the box and it all works with the OEM speakers and microphone without any issues. Apple CarPlay works directly through the OEM stereo but uses the android box for comparability.

And what are all the part numbers you ordered?

Hey Club Lexus. Sorry to revive this thread for my first post. I just picked up a 2016 3IS and was looking at upgrading the Display/Head unit. Sorry to kind of steal/borrow the set up from Edwin8484, but that would be my ideal end goal. Of course the enclosed 10.25" screen with android unit built in would be the most cost effective option, but I really like the 2017+ IS OEM nav unit, trust the anti glare coating on the display more, and I like the android interface Edwin has more. What I'm trying to figure out is, if I was piecing the whole 2017+ set up together, would I be able to get the updated screen first and use that with the old 2014-16 IS Nav head unit till I got everything else? Maybe I'm mistaken, but from what I'm deducing from reading the thread so far is that I would need a adapter/part of the harness of a 2017+ IS to be able to use the updated display on the old head unit. Is that so, and has anyone tried this already? Thanks for the help, stay safe!

Yepp! Thanks anyway though. As mentioned above. Despite that most likely being the most cost effective option. I like the OEM 17+ screen with it's anti glare coating better, and I really want the 17+ oem navigation head unit when I can get one for a half decent price.

So did anyone figure out the exact connectors used? and did you ever hear back? I'm wondering if it's possible to use the OEM 10.25" screen from the 2017+ with a 2014-16 nav unit? It's something I'm willing to tryout, did you happen to try that before you put the 2017+ head unit in your car Edwin?

you cannot use the 10.25" wider screen with the 2014-2016 navi unit, the display output resolution is different and the stereo will not know what to do. you may at best get a image but will probably flicker and not fill the whole screen,

Does this work with a 7 inch 2017 is200t NON-navi? And do I still need the connector if it does work or can I use everything OEM on the 17'. I know on ebay they show a few/3 different models for the different center console mouse/****/touch pad devices.

This thread is referring to upgrading the entire OEM head unit/scree/control joystick to a 2017+ unit. You would still need the part of the 2017+ W/Nav harness with the mystery connector since you currently have the 7" screen, along with the 2017+ W/Nav joystick, screen, and navigation head unit.
