Default Trunk spring

So recently I replaced my trunk with a carbon fiber seibon trunk. Due to the light weight of the trunk, the springs are too strong and make the trunk fly open when i press the trunk release button. Is there any way to remove the spring or reduce the tension?

I found this on the GS forums, not sure if this applies to the IS platform though, but it's worth a look.

I just got in the habit of having my other hand on top of the trunk to catch it when I open mine.

His trunk is heavier. so he adjusted the tension to stronger. We got seibon trunk, which is lighter. so we need even less tension. NOT stronger tension. I don't think that would help. The only way I could think of is fabricating a shock hinge and install a trunk shock. It is annoying too. I almost got hit in the face by the trunk so many times.

yeah my trunk is much lighter if it has the same adjustable holes like the gs i would probably just cut a new hole further away to reduce the tension on the spring
