Couple of benefits:
1. Rims will be less expensive
2. Tires will be less expensive
3. Narrower tires are better for snow
4. You could get 2IS or 3IS 17 inch rims which will clear the big calipers up front (if you wanted Lexus rims for winter)

For those with the 2015 - 2019 IS350 AWD, how's the turning radius on it?

drives cars
I have a 2016 IS 300 AWD, which is mechanically identical to the IS 350 AWD. The turning radius is actually excellent. It's much better than any car I've owned before, such as my old 2001 Buick Century or my 2010 Toyota Camry. It's about dead-even with my wife's subcompact Versa Note! I've never had issues making u-turns with the IS.
In my experience, it's a lot of fun in the snow and very capable. The AWD system is 70/30 rear-to-front by default, so you can get a little oversteer if you want it. But to drive normally has always been a non-event, even with all-season tires. The stability control is also very good at preventing accidental slides, but it can mess with you if you try to correct at the same time as the stability control intervenes.
I find the SNOW mode to be helpful but overkill in light snow. In heavy snow it's an extra touch of confidence, and I actually use it if the snow is deeper than a foot or so, maybe a little less. I would recommend finding an empty parking lot and switching the TC completely off and just experimenting. I find it very drift-able with TC off; it is totally controllable.

Apparently
RWD=34.2ft
AWD=35.4ft
CT200h=34.2ft
Civic=35.4
BMW E46 3 Series=34.4
Honda Fit=35.07
LS460=35.4
F150=51ft (lol)
Tesla model 3=38.8ft

I looked these up for fun cause i started to get curious..
Surprised a FWD CT can match the RWD IS. Probably shorter wheelbase helps.. always loved my IS RWD turning circle.

So many cars nowadays ignore this and their radius is practically cargo ship levels of frustration.

Can I use the Carista app to register my new TPMS sensors? they're not OEM. Can I just take it to any tire shop and get it registered? And if so, do I have to take it every time I change to winter wheel and tire set? Thanks in advance, I come from BMW and the car automatically did all this.

2. Yes
3. Yes, unless you clone the sensors to the ones on the vehicle, then the answer would be no. If you clone them, then you have 2 sets of wheels with the same 4 sensor codes within each set.
Did the BMW you have use sensors or did they run it off the ABS system? I know some Mercs that use the ABS system still.

I have read that our large NA V6 is muted in the 300...and even in the 350.
The idea being durability. But in the Sport mode, my IS300 revs and holds
to 5,000 RPM. Not consistent with durability? My G37x and Audi A4 never
revved like that in auto.

5,000 RPM is nowhere near redline. Don't sweat it.
