I'd probably get one but I'd see them more likely to throw that in a new generation car. I don't see them introducing that in an old car. would bleed off excitement off a new gen. but never know

Agreed 100%. While the 3IS is awesome, it's quickly becoming outdated. Low MPG, not enough tech... But, a new gen with the stuff from the LS, LC, and ES that have recently debuted combined with the way the current car drives (maybe with better LCA bushings
) would make a very appealing package. Not to mention the new engine.

If they do, then they'd be on par with what the competition is putting out now. I mean, the 340i and S4 have engines that smoke the 2GR-FKS in terms of hp and torque output, Infiniti has the VR series 3.0L turbo V6 adapted from the Nissan GT-R in two power outputs (300, 400) and soon Acura will also have a turbo V6 to call their own. Even Genesis (Hyundai) has a 3.3T engine in the G70. Lexus just seems to be the last one to the party when it comes to power output.
If this rumor is true and the IS350 gets the new engine just like how the Infiniti Q50 went from the old VQ 3.7 to the VR 3.0T, then a 4IS is definitely my next upgrade.
