Default Anyone running this tire size?

Stock rear tire size is 255/35/18. Can I run 265/35/18 instead? The whole tire size thing confuses the fu*k out of me. From what I read I should be fine.

Yes should be fine. It is only slightly wider and translates to it being slightly taller.

I am going to run 225/45/18 and 255/40/18 soon. Some members are running much larger diameters with no issues.

Using a wider tire won’t hurt at all, it will increase traction. Why use a wider tire on a 8.5 rim, 255/35 is plenty. I only met ppl that go with wider tires or different sizes because 1. Custom wheels and 2. The brand/model tire they wanted wasn’t available in factory sizes

This is my exact issue, the brand I'm looking at and available in the stock size. As long as I don't run into any major issues I think I'll pull the trigger.

I run 255/45/18's in the rear, and 225/50/18's on the front (AWD). Tires are much taller (by-1.5-2"), but have same width for the most part. No rubbing, even with 4 adults. Tires that are too wide can begin to look like one of the trucks with oversized tires we see on the road. The tires fill almost the entire wheel well, and make the most sense for living in the snow and on city streets with huge potholes. Also, your speedo will be off by +3mph @ 60mph, but this is an easy head calculation when driving.

BTW, you should be fine, there is a cavern between the tires and wheel well opening on our cars, dunno why they designed it this way.

I had the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus tires 245/45R18 100V installed in March, before every thing was shut down. Luckily , I guess, I got called back to work in May and since then I've put about 12000 miles on the tires. So far, I'm impressed. The ride is smooth and quiet. They do well in dry and wet conditions and do good in a panic stop condition! I drive sprightly, but not crazy. My car came with Goodyears and I really disliked those!! They were loud and lumpy and got worse with more mileage. The Pirelli's are a good recommendation.
