My Akebonos will squeal slightly when extremely cold or when there is surface rust present on the rotors. They don't squeal after they have warmed up. I did put on a new set of rotors at the same time.
As far a resurfacing the rotors, it's your call. I've been taught to resurface the rotors. It gives the new pads a fresh surface, allows proper break-in, allows even pad wear and to help prevent squealing. A used rotor will have some sort of warping.

I was only talking about initial installation squeal because of dissimilar pads. No need to break in street pads, and forgive me, but rotors don't warp unless under extreme circumstances. The pulsing that most people feel that leads them to believe their rotors are "warped" is simply uneven pad material deposits on the rotor.
I think I'll see how long the OEM's will last, I don't drive the car hard, and wash it so much the brake dust isn't a concern.
