I have the Fortin unit... which allows you to use regular key FOB to remote start.
They offer a T-harness that minimizes wire splicing, and if you live in southern ontario and feel like paying a bit more they have a smart unit (called EVO START) where you can start your car with their app anywhere in the network (there's a range map) no subscription required.

FYI - Chatted with Mike at 4x4 Shop, and he said they are actually currently looking into a Joystick solution (although the bottom of the page says joystick compatible, they have a note at the very top that says otherwise).

Re: the joystick compatibility, no guarantees it will work of course. They still would like someone to help them test - he said that it shouldn't matter if it's navi or not, but he said they would need to test to be sure. I mentioned that if the plugs are supposedly different. Anyway, fingers crossed they will find a solution in a couple weeks (or sooner!).

If this product does work with NAV vehicles, does anyone see potential issues with the different audio system? Premium audio vs. ML?

I don’t see why it would, the screen isn’t changing anything audio wise. The stereo stays the same, you’re just changing the screen for one that has its own processor etc in it.

Joystick car = Navi .
**** Car = Non-Navi

again the wiring connnections at the rear of the stereo is completely different between the two configuration

here are some pictures of the back of the two stereo for reference
Non-Navi

Navi

Yes, The Screen is the same between the two.

But,
Non-navi = Analog Audio from stereo Headunit sent to the Amplifier
Navi= Digital Audio signal from stereo to the Amplifier, Does not matter if Mark Levinson or Not, still Digital Signal for Navigation models

Wouldn’t a different harness do the trick?

We had already mentioned this unit which is pretty much the same one, but thanks! Haha
Edit: your link doesn’t take us to the product, just the Ali Express main page.

yes different harness plus new firmware will be required (spells out a lot of R&D)
Different type of BUS protocol signals, (additional CANBUS going to the joystick vs old schools AVC-LAN going to ****)

You sure it’s that complicated? It’s possible it’s not that involved. I’m no expert but I’ve seen people say things are very complicated and they turn out to be fixed quite easily. I hope it’s definitely possible for everyone that has the mouse. Anyways, I’m just glad I have the **** haha.

i've brought up bench setups of both for Development purposes at last company I was working for.
I know very well the wiring schematics of both configurations. I consider myself expert in the subject matter

sample of what i previously worked on
