the Carlinkit unit I reviewed above does have android auto and use the oem screen it also have an hdmi port that i routed to my glove that can connect into anything like android box

You should make a new thread for that unit. It will make it a lot easier for people to find info on. It seems like a great alternative for people with incompatible set ups.

+1 The OEM 10.25" screen is really nice in person. IMO you should keep the OEM screen and ad a external android box or something like the unit that Far2Great posted about. (Think someone else posted something similar a few pages back). These aftermarket screens are a no brainier if your car came from the factory with the 7.7" screen though.
Yeah I agree. If I had the OEM 10.25 with Nav screen, I’d stick with it but would want the this unit for the CarPlay upgrade.
The Android unit to replace the 7” screen is a definite must have imo. That and a tune for the 8AR-FTS models.
which screen did you buy because I haven't seen a android 7.1 screen with 720p screen. The 7.1 screen on aliexpress is advertised with having a 480p screen

Looks like you got scammed. Open a dispute with aliexpress if you still can.
BTW my supplier sent me a new updated file to upgrade the screen and now I have a button which you can see on the left side in the middle which is like a menu button, I can move it around anywhere, also my mileage was displaying incorrectly and this update sorted it out and the unit seems quicker

i will very soon i just got a ground loop issue going on and i get weird static and feedback as soon as that fixed ill make a new post...if anyone has had this issue before let know how you fixed it

4x4 Shop sent me the update to Android 7.1 assuming you bought it from them they will send you the update.
