I'm not trying to discount your expertise...just trying to make sure all possibilities are exhausted.
So the plugs going into the back of the LCD screen are different as well? I see 3-4 plugs that look the same.
Also, if it's so obvious its not possible, not sure why 4x4 said they are currently looking into a solution. Maybe I'm just being too hopeful?
The plugs going to the rear of the LCD display for Non-Navi and Navigation stereos are exactly the same for 2014-2016 year model vehicles.
2017+ is when the Navigation got a different screen, i.e. the wider screen. For the Non-navigation 2017+ IS, it kept the regular old standard size screen as the previous years.
4x4 is probably not familiar with the differences between the two setups which is a lot. The only similarity is the Display between the two configurations

It is still in development, Integration controls with interface module with just **** function makes things more complicated vs if it had an OEM touchscreen.
I no longer work for that company so I cannot give an idea/details on timeline of a release.
No that's the old one, only has 1gb of ram vs 2gb on ours, and 16gb storage vs 32gb on the one we have. Also updated processor and android 6.0 vs 4.4 on that unit.
Do you guys think a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo would work with this?
If it has Bluetooth Chipset then yes a Bluetooth mouse and Keyboard would be able to pair to it and work.
In fact, USB keyboard and Mouse should as well
