Is there anyone in Toronto with a Navi/Joystick equipped IS that can spend a couple hours testing this in their shop?

Also, he said he'd be willing to do a group buy if we get 5 or more. He said they can include the CarPlay dongle for FREE ($100-150 savings). Please please...let's do this.

If you're interested in helping, please call Fred at 4x4:

They said there's free wifi and coffee so you won't be bored. Help a brother out please!

There isn’t a group buy. Mods said it wasn’t allowed due to 4x4 Shop not being an approved vendor aka because they don’t contribute money to Club Lexus we aren’t allowed to have a group buy. I provided the links for their product above as well as their contact info if you want to buy one.

When I went to buy from 4x4, price was listed at $850 with a paypal fee so about $875... Did the price rise from $800 or am I missing something? Want to make sure I'm buying the right one..

That was what the price WAS going to be along with the free Apple CarPlay dongle for the group buy. The $850 is the normal price and without the Apple CarPlay dongle.

Alright everybody, I wasn’t able to record the install due to some issues, but I successfully installed the unit and it’s pretty awesome. CarPlay is finicky which I’m not surprised since it’s not baked into the unit and have to use a dongle for it. I will be doing a video on the Apple CarPlay interface on the unit soon though. I did run into a few minor issues, but I did manage to somewhat fix them; I am going to consult 4x4 Shop about it.

EDIT: I was able to connect with Fred at 4x4 Shop. They are still working on the NAVI version. He said he hopes to get it to work, and it will be completely plug and play - no wire cutting - it will be harness and firmware based. No guarantees, but they are still working on it. Fingers crossed! Based on this, you can almost ignore the below....I'd much rather get from 4x4 Shop than Aliexpress. I'd be scared of the customer service, and 4x4 really seems customer focused.

By the way, does the Joystick remote only come with Navi in all markets? Or are there variations where the joystick is included with non-navi cars?

Not letting this go, I've reached out to a seller on Alibaba (Kalo), for the Merryway unit, who I believe makes this particular unit as it has the same specs: Android 6.0/2GB/32GB unit. They interestingly stated that their's works with Jog/Joystick (!). I am still discussing with them as I have my serious doubts, but they have been very communicative to date.

We have exchanged photos which include the back of their actual IS unit. Not surprisingly, its similar to the 4x4Shop unit, but with added labels - including the "IS" font/logo on the back, quality/inspected, stickers etc. They also sent me a photo of a joystick part to illustrate we're talking about the same thing.

I've sent them pictures of the navi vs. non-navi back and asked them to show which plugs on the Navi unit their unit plugs into. They are continuing to respond and ask questions. I'll keep everyone updated - but don't hold your breath.

Also, I was hoping that we could use another car's unit (i.e. GS) as that car comes with joystick only in US - but it looks like some countries have the ****.

Honestly, you could just follow SpecOne’s video that’s the bulk of it.
